“Never doubt that a small group of committed individuals

can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead

Impact Artists’ Gallery was established in 1993. Impact’s mission is to foster emerging artists by providing an affordable professional space for them in which to grow, create and exhibit their work, helping them to achieve professional development and expand their opportunities.

The gallery provides a place for the public to view original art in a wide variety of media, such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, wood, stone, clay, metal, fiber, handmade paper and books, installations, video, jewelry, handmade greeting cards by local and national artists. Additionally, Impact hosts events in collaboration with community agencies, panel discussions by experts in fine art and community concerns, and workshops, classes, lectures, and painting studio days. Impact hosts poetry and other literary readings, and music, dance and drama performances. Impact Artists’ Gallery also offers internships for college students. Member artists tutor art students from Empire State College who live nearby. We also set up bus tours to art galleries outside of Buffalo, such as Rochester, Toronto, and Cleveland. We host 12 month long shows per year, student thesis shows, and annual national and local shows, Young Women’s Show, Women of Color Show. We have had collaborative fund raisers including a mask auction for Cornerstone Manor, and in October of 2007, we had a fundraiser to help restore the trees in Buffalo.

Last February we hosted the 9th Annual Fine Art Healing and Health Show which included workshops by Eileen Hothow, Director of Creative Edge, Kathleen Gaftney the Director of Studio Arena, Mary Kate O’Connell Director of Diva and Co., Ralph Sariani of the VA Hospital and sketch artist for the local police, Autistic Service’s art and performance of drumming, plus drumming, yoga, painting, dance and music workshops. In addition to the free workshops each Saturday in February there was a month long exhibition of art from artists and non-artist from the community.

This year we are asking YOU to be one of those committed individuals and agencies by being one of our sponsors for our 10th Annual Fine Art Healing and Health Show which will be held this February, 2011 at the Impact Artists’ Gallery in collaboration with Headway of WNY.

Your sponsorship will enable us to reach out to more individuals who can participate in this unique event and we will also be able to eliminate the need for a ‘hanging’ fee. Our sponsorship levels are outlined in the following page which also lists the month’s events. We are a 501c3 mot-for-profit registered in NY.

The gallery is open to the general public to provide a culturally enriched environment to the community, our workshops target women, especially with special needs, and young women at risk. To bring in the most diverse group of people we advertise in the local community papers, Art Voice, Buffalo Beat, Gusto, the Jewish Review, cable TV programs and calendar listings, and send letters and fliers to schools and organizations.

Sincerely,

Diane Menchetti
