IMPACT ARTISTS GALLERY CALL for ART WORK
“ART HEALING and HEALTH”-2009

This month long exhibition is open to everyone, artists and non-artists to show their art. Everyone has feelings to express, but they don’t always know what to do with strong, sometimes overwhelming emotions. Putting these feelings into artwork is often the answer. Impact Artists’ Gallery features speakers that will lead discussions and workshops that educate, inspire & promote Art and healing. These community leaders will demonstrate and explain how the arts help mental health every Saturday in Feb. 2008 during free events.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: All media: painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, sculpture, fiber, poetry, journals , bookmaking & video. Work should express the feelings, emotion, or mood felt in producing the art or evoke it in the viewer. This can be a strong expression or as simple as a feeling of relaxation. Please limit the size of your work to less than 5′ wide 7′ high. All art to be hung on the wall must be framed or have a proper hanger and wire on the back allowing easy hanging. If the weight is excessive you must set up it’s display.
Please bring your artwork to the gallery January, 28, 29 30, 2009 11-4 pm. Please call first on the day you plan to deliver your art. Work will be screened, no slides required & no fee. The total number of artwork and sizes submitted to the gallery will determine the number of pieces accepted by each artist. Note, we have 1 VCR/TV & no DVD player. If one is needed to exhibit your work, please call to arrange its’ use or bring one.
